– Also a little underwhelmed. “Chatter” is a way to leverage Social Networking Sites to be used in the workplace, for Service and Sales functions, specifically Facebook and Twitter, to the exclusion of all other sites. We all know users are fickle, what is hot today, might not be next year, so what would have been nice is an API so that one can interface with any standards-compliant social networking site.

Only risk I see for SFDC is pricing of Chatter edition 50 USD per user / month. Try to imagine this cost for company with 1000 PC users. This would be hard to approve as MOSS can be cheaper as they has concurrent users. You should definitely adapt same model you do for Force.com and do giveaway limited chatter with strictly cut functionality Free. This would help to reach quickly critical audience number.
